Yura Sugiura (杉浦優來) is the former leader and member of the girl group Lucky2 and a former member of the temporary group lovely2. She shares her name and appearance with her GaruGaku. 2 counterpart, Yura.
Biography[]
Yura was born on January 5, 2007 in Tokyo. She is the youngest of her parents' two children and has an older sister called Aira Sugiura who is nine years older than her[citation needed]. She is a graduate of EXPG Tokyo.
Etymology[]
Yura (優來) uses the kanji 優 (Yuu; Gentle), and 來 (Ra; Come).
Sugiura (杉浦) uses the kanji 杉 (Sugi; Cedar), and 浦 (Ura; Cove).
Career[]
2013-2019: Jobby Kids, Avex Artist Academy, EXPG[]
In 2013, Yura signed with Jobby Kids at 6 years old where she stayed for only a year. While in the agency, she participated in the U-CAN "My Dream" CM whilst also later making her first drama guest appearance as a kindergartener in episode 6 of TBS drama "Undercover Agent Lizard".
While in elementary school, her mother encouraged her to be a model. On November 2014 at 7 years old, she was a finalist in the model section at KiraChalle 2014. [1] She joined Avex Artist Academy at the age of 9 in 2016, where she began to take model lessons. In 2017, she participated once again in the model section at KiraChalle.
In 2018, she appeared in the Avex Dance Master CM. In the same year, she appeared as a Autumn/Winter catalogue model for ZIDDY.[2] After 3 years with Avex, she graduated from the company.
Yura joined EXPG Tokyo in April 2019 where she later graduated in 2020 after her debut with lovely2.[3]
2020-2021: Debut with Lovepatrina[]
After winning the role of Sora Nanairo in 2020 through auditions, Yura was announced as a cast member for Police x Heroine Lovepatrina! in early 2020, although her character was only revealed to be a protagonist later on. Due to being a main cast member, she guested on children's shows such as Oha Suta.
Aside from acting in the show, Yura was a member of the idol unit they released through the series called lovely2. The group's activities lasted for a year until the end of the series. Other than that, Yura and her teammates were featured in Girls2's songs and modeled for brands such as TEG TEG.
2021-2025: Debut with Lucky2, Graduation[]
On June 13th, 2021, a special announcement was announced at lovely2's Special Live. It was revealed that there was going to be a new girl group, with Yura being one of the members. The group was announced to be called Lucky2 and their debut single, Fun! Fun! Fun! ~Yume Mugendai~ was announced to be the first opening of Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!, the 5th series of the Girls x Heroine franchise.
On October 1st, Yura and her fellow members of Lucky2 were announced to be the next Oha Girls after the remaining members of Girls2 graduated. Additionally, they even had their own mini anime through Oha Suta. She was the Thursday Oha Girl until their graduation on March 25th, 2022.
On February 22, 2025, it was announced that Yura will be graduating from Lucky2 at the end of March in order to focus on her future studies.
