Momoka Sumitani (隅谷百花) is a singer, dancer, actress, and model under LDH. She is a member of the girl group Girls2 and a former member of the temporary group magical2. She shares her name and appearance with her GaruGaku. counterpart, Momoka.
Biography[]
Momoka was born on November 20, 2004 in Hyōgo Prefecture. She is the oldest of her parents' two children and has a little brother. She is a graduate of EXPG Osaka.
Etymology[]
Momoka (百花) uses the kanji 百 (Hyaku; 100) and 花 (Hana; flower).
Sumitani (隅谷) uses the kanji 隅 (Sumi; corner) and 谷 (Tani; valley).
Career[]
2015-2017: EXPG, KIZZY[]
Momoka participated in many dance activities. In 2015, she was a backup dancer for EXILE LIVE TOUR 2015 AMAZING WORLD. In the next year, she was a backup dancer for the Dragon Quest Live Spectacle Tour. She was a backup dancer for J Soul Brothers LIVE TOUR 2016-2017 METROPOLIZ from 2016 - 2017.
It is assumed that she joined EXPG Osaka sometime in 2016, having been first seen in articles and images around that time.[4]
Momoka also joined KIZZY (Yoka, Kurea, and Kira were also members) in 2017 as one of it's starting line-up members but left within the same year.
2018-2019: Debut with Magical x Heroine MagimajoPures!, magical2[]
Momoka was announced to be part of the main cast for Magical x Heroine MagimajoPures! in early 2018. Due to being a main cast member, she guested on children's shows such as Oha Suta.
Aside from acting in the show, Momoka was a member of the idol unit they released through the series called magical2. The group's activities lasted for a year until the end of the series.
2019: Debut with Girls2[]
On March 29th, 2019, it was announced that Momoka became a member of the new unit "Girls2" formed from the Girls x Heroine franchise, a combination unit between 'miracle2', 'magical2' and 'mirage2'. Their debut took place on June 26 with the release "Daijoubu" which was the opening theme for the third season of the Girls x Heroine franchise, Secret x Warrior Phantomirage!.
Under the group, Momoka and her teammates carried out more activities, such as modeling for several popular brands and having their own mini anime through Oha Suta. Momoka was also an Oha Girl along with the other members of the group. She was the Wednesday Oha Girl for the academic year of 2019-2020, but this was changed to Friday from 2020 onward with Minami Hishida. She then graduated from Oha Suta on March 26, 2021.
