Laki (ラキ) is an eight-member Japanese girl group managed by LDH Japan and signed to the record label, rhythm zone. They debuted on September 22, 2021 under the name Lucky2 (ラッキーラッキー; Stylized as Lucky² and pronounced Lucky Lucky), with their first single "Fun! Fun! Fun! ~Yume∞~". Until 2025, they were under SL Square LLP, a joint management project by LDH Japan and Sony Music Labels.
The members who portrayed main characters in the fourth and fifth seasons of the Girls x Heroine! franchise were officially announced on June 13, 2021. The new three members of the sixth season joined on February 27, 2022. They promoted as a nine member group until Yura's graduation on March 31, 2025.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On June 13, 2021, during lovely² SPECIAL LIVE 2021, Lucky2 was announced for the first time. A video was shown to the audience which was later uploaded onto social media. The group introduced former lovely2 members Rina and Yura, whilst also introducing the two main heroines of Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!, Tsubaki and Hiiro. Two new members, Yuwa and Kanna, have been confirmed as members but will also appear in the series later on.
The video revealed that their debut song would be used as the first opening theme song for the fifth Girls x Heroine season, Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!. They performed "Fun! Fun! Fun! ~Yume Mugendai~" for the first time in lovely2's final live.
On August 22, during Ciao Fest, Yuwa and Kanna were confirmed to make their debut appearance as Honoka Akahoshi and Koyuki Aoba, in episode 11 of Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!.
2021: Debut with "Fun! Fun! Fun! ~Yume Mugendai~", Bittomo x Heroine Kirameki Powers!, Oha Girls, GaruGaku 2: Lucky Stars[]
On September 22, 2021, Lucky2 debuted with their first single "Fun! Fun! Fun! ~Yume Mugendai~".
On October 1, all six Lucky2 members were confirmed to be the next Oha Girls, following Girls2 where they’ll go by the name “Oha Girls from Lucky2”. Lucky2 were also announced to be the main characters in the 2nd season of GaruGaku., featuring as themselves in GaruGaku. 2: Lucky Stars.
On November 3rd, Lucky2 released their first mini album Kimi Suki.
2022: New Members, Brand New World!/DISCO TIME, First Live Tour, "Aikotoba"[]
On February 27, Ririka Uemura, Akari Mori and Kiki Sato were announced as the newest members of Lucky2, officially increasing the group to nine members. With the announcement of the new members, a new 'danceable show' featuring Ririka and Akari as cast, "RizSta -Top of Artists!-" was also announced, with Lucky2 to provide the ending theme "DISCO TIME". On June 1, Lucky2 released their first EP Brand New World!/DISCO TIME.
Lucky2's first live tour Lucky2 First Live Tour - Brand New World! - was also announced. However, the three new members did not participate due to schedule conflicts.
On October 27, they released their second single "Aikotoba". Included in the single is Lucky2's version of Girls2's "Girls Revolution", to which two members of Lucky2 had previously participated in.
2023: "Lucky Lucky LOVE!", Happy Summer Live Tour, Yumezora ni Hane[]
On December 25 2022, the Girls x Heroine series was revealed to end. Additionally, Lucky2 were announced to provide its final ending theme. On February 22, 2023, they released the single "Lucky Lucky LOVE!", with the title track of the same name being the final ending theme.
On April 8, it was announced that Lucky2's second live tour Happy Summer would be held in three cities. It was the first live tour with all nine members.
On October 4, their second EP Yumezora ni Hane was released.
2024: First Documentary Series, Zutto Zutto Zutto, Kokugo - Sansu - Rika - Renai!, CLOVER, Yotsuba no Clover Live Tour[]
On January 10 2024, Lucky2 announced a new project Lucky2 THE Next Stage, a YouTube documentary-style series following Lucky2 as they prepare for their newest release. On February 28, they released their EP Zutto Zutto Zutto.
On April 3, in the 12th episode of the documentary project "Lucky² The Next Stage", the Lucky2's new upcoming release was announced, which will be released in this summer. On April 8, were confirmed Lucky2's performance on "12th National Elementary and Middle School Rhythm Dance Fureai Contest" co-sponsored by Sponichi with one of the new songs.
On July 3, Lucky2 released their new EP Kokugo - Sansu - Rika - Renai!.
On September 22, Lucky2 announced their first full album and new live tour titled Yotsuba no Clover.
On December 18, their first full album CLOVER was released.
2025: Yura Graduates, "Unicorn Dance", Collaboration Cafe, New Music Label, Name Change, Infinity Live Tour, Infinity[]
On February 22, 2025, it was announced that Yura would graduate from Lucky2 and leave SL Square LLP at the end of March in order to focus on her future studies. On February 27, in honor of her graduation from the group, Lucky2 conducted a special live broadcast on their official YouTube Channel. Yura graduated on March 31, 2025.
On April 1, following Yura's graduation, Lucky2 unveiled a new visual on their official website. It suggested at an exciting new chapter would commence for the eight members starting in April.
On June 1, Lucky2 announced their upcoming fan meeting, which will also feature a performance of their new song. The title of Lucky2's new song, "Unicorn Dance," was revealed on June 22[1]. The song was digitally released on July 13, on the first day of their fan meeting. With the release of the song, it was officially revealed that Lucky2 had been transferred to rhythm zone, thus being managed by LDH Japan only.
On July 1, Lucky2 announced a collaboration cafe with Sweets Paradise, featuring clothing brand SPINNS and coffeehouse S-PiCK CAFE. Their collaboration cafe, titled Lucky2's Lucky Cafe was available in Harajuku from July 15 until August 3.
On August 8, Lucky2 announced the renaming of their group. They revealed that the group's name will be changed to "Laki" on September 22, coinciding with their fourth anniversary. On the same day, they also disclosed their schedule for their upcoming live tour Laki LIVE TOUR 2025 -Infinity- in November, and announced that there would be a new release in December.[2] On October 11, Laki revealed that their new EP would be titled Infinity.
On November 24, Laki revealed another tour planned for 2026, titled Laki LIVE TOUR 2026 -Ambition-.[3]

- The six stars on the logo represents the six members.
- This is similar to the 9 circles on Girls2 logo which represents their members.
- With the announcement of the 3 new members, the logo was changed to include 9 stars.
- Their new name "Laki" is deciphered as: "L" refers to "Lucky" with meaning "Luckiness", "A" refers to "Ambition" with meaning "Dreams and Ambitions", "K" refers to "Kizuna" with meaning "Bonds", and "I" refers to "Infinity" with meaning "Endless Possibilities".
- This was evident in their new logo.
- The reference of letter "I" (Infinity) was used as the title of their live tour 2025.
- In Japanese, Lucky-Lucky is pronounced "Rakki Rakki" (ラッキーラッキー), but backwards (with minor spelling adjustments) is pronounced "Kira Kira" (キラキラ) meaning "to sparkle, shine, twinkle".
