Kira Yamaguchi (山口綺羅) is a singer, dancer, actress, and model under LDH. She is the dance leader and member of the girl group Girls2 and a former member of the temporary group mirage2. She shares her name and appearance with her GaruGaku. counterpart, Kira.
Biography[]
Kira was born on January 20, 2004 in Nagasaki Prefecture. She is the oldest of her parents' three children and has a younger sister, Ririka Kayamoto, who is currently in the entertainment industry as an actress, as well as a younger brother. She is a graduate of EXPG Fukuoka.
Etymology[]
Kira (綺羅) uses the kanji 綺 (Ki; Pretty) and 羅 (Ra; Silk).
Yamaguchi (山口) uses the kanji 山 (Yama; Mountain) and 口 (Guchi; Mouth).
Career[]
2017-2018: EXPG, KIZZY[]
Kira joined EXPG Fukuoka in 2nd year middle school in 2017, having been first seen in articles and images around that time. It was also shown that she was part of the "Regular Dance Class" in 2018, even participating in workshops with special guests.
Kira also joined KIZZY (Momoka, Yoka, and Kurea were also members) in 2017 as one of it's starting line-up members but left afterwards.
2018-2020: THE GIRLS AUDITION, Debut with Secret x Heroine Phantomirage!, mirage2, Debut with Girls2, Gachamuku[]
While participating in LDH's THE GIRLS AUDITION in 2018 as a part of the actress category, Takeshi Miike told the contestants that whoever is a successful applicant in the acting category will receive a part in his works. After winning, Kira managed to get the role of Saki Asumi for Secret x Heroine Phantomirage!. Due to being a main cast member, she guested on children's shows such as Oha Suta.
Aside from acting in the show, Kira was a member of the idol unit they released through the series called mirage2. The group's activities lasted for a year until the end of the series.
On March 29th, 2019, it was announced that Kira became a member of the new unit "Girls2" formed from the Girls x Heroine franchise, a combination unit between 'miracle2', 'magical2' and 'mirage2'. Their debut took place on June 26 with the release "Daijoubu" which was the opening theme for the third season of the Girls x Heroine franchise, Secret x Warrior Phantomirage!.
Under the group, Kira and her teammates carried out more activities, such as modeling for several popular brands and having their own mini anime through Oha Suta. Kira became an Oha Girl along with the members of mirage2 for the academic year of 2020-2021 and was the Tuesday Oha Girl along with Kurea Masuda. She then graduated from Oha Suta on October 1, 2021.
Announced on June 21, 2020, Misaki and Kira were announced to replace E-girls Yuzuna Takebe and Anna Ishii as the regulars for the BS Fuji morning show Gachamuku. Their broadcast started in July.
2022: ZIP! Kiterune![]
Starting from 2022, Kira became a regular reporter for the TV show ZIP! Kiterune!.
